Senior Field Technician
We require a senior field technician, and would consider operators who have approximately 5-10 years’ experience in coreyard operations and are capable of managing day to day core yard activities and associated drilling programs (diamond/RC).
The person would also be required to coordinate geophysical programs (ground mag-gravity, DHEM).
Proposed activities are included in the attached position description. Other items to note:
- Person must possess a valid fork lift ticket and drivers licence
- 14 on/7 off roster
- Transport and accommodation provided by client.

2 Field Assistants Diamond Drilling Programme
Our client requires two field assistants, one with a fair bit of experience and the other may have less.
IRGS Gold exploration
A graduate geologist with field experience may be considered.
2500 Metres of Diamond drilling to be carried out.
The team will now be mobilised from Charters Towers as the client has set up a site there to process the core and vehicles will be driving back and forth to Biloela.
Site inductions will be carried out and a drug and alcohol test before job starts.
There is zero tolerance for drugs and alcohol on site, and daily tests will be carried out.
Accommodation at supplied in Biloela - meals provided.
D&A only - required.
Possible 'piggy back' programme near Charters Towers for 120 hold RAB programme after.
Brisbane or Townsville based acceptable. or probably inbetween too.
rembursement for either mileage or petrol will be supplied.
Gnomic will organise other travel etc.
Field assistants x 2 - NSW
Two experienced field assistants required for 4-6-month drill program 90 km to the north of Burke in central western New South Wales, Australia.
The area falls within the Thompson Orogen and commodities that are being explored for are Au, Pt, Pd, Cu, Co and heavy REE's.
The drill program is a combined rotary mud and diamond coring so experience with both these drilling types is essential.
Point of Hire is Brisbane with charter flights to site from Archerfield airport in south Brisbane. Roster will be 14/7 with 12 hr days.
Soil sampling programme planned for later in the year, once site access has been granted.
Experienced Field Assistant
-Our client requires someone that they can use to do the sampling on the drill rig. It is air core drilling, the samples are bagged in 25cm intervals (approximately 2.5kg samples) by the drillers and laid out on the ground.
-The geo will log them and then the fieldie would staple sample tickets into and tie the sample bags to be sampled. These would then be placed into sacks in lots of 6 and placed onto the back of the truck. The fieldie would have two traditional owners assisting them, mainly for lifting samples onto the truck but also anything the fieldie considers they are capable of assisting with….so would partially be overseeing what the t/o’s are doing to ensure it is being done correctly.
-1 day RDO on site as a break in the middle of the drilling programme
They would require a manual drivers licence too.
Competency in RIIVEH305 Operate and maintain a 4WD is a requirement
1 -2 Field Assistants -Soil Sampling and a Senior Field Assistant
Gnomic requires fit professional and experienced field technicians for a North Western Qld Copper Mine.
One role involves mainly soil sampling, in rugged terrain, so physical fitness is a requirement. Some core processing also maybe required.
There is also a requirement for a senior fieldie to back to back with the current head fieldy. Experience in all aspects of exploration is required.
The role is two weeks on, one week off, the comms on site are not particularly that great, but wifi available in camp.
They must have the following before coming out on site,
- A Manual Driver's licence
- Current first aid certificate (Gnomic will provide if necessary)
Any current licences etc would be well received.
Preferably Townsville, Cairns or Brisbane based.
Core yard field assistant
Core yard fieldy on going until end July 2018 for the right person.
- Maintaining drill core records as received from the Underground Departments.
- Core Mark Up – one (1) metre intervals, cut lines, core loss and orientated core.
- Core tray mark up with drillhole details and metal tags .
- Logging of Rock Quality Designation (RQD) into Acquire database.
- Specific Gravity (SG) and point load testing.
- Diamond drill core photography
- Cutting of diamond drill core for sampling– Manual and automatic (Almonte) core saw.
- Sample dispatch.
- Database management
Experienced core processing field technician
An experienced field technician with hands-on experience in all aspects of core processing - recovery, RQD, orientation, mark up etc for a project in WA.
Perth based people preferred. Basic but comfortable exploration camp provided.
Experienced field assistant
An experienced field assistant is required for exploration project work in the Northern Territory and near Mt Isa for the 2018 field season.
Experience in all facets of core processing, camp housekeeping and field exploration is essential.
The successful candidate will need to be medically cleared prior to commencement of the contract.
